Happy Thursday!
I have a very quick post. I saw a cute sporty top on a co-worker and thought I wanted something very similar. My co-worker kindly allowed me to examine her top. Since I am not allowed to purchase any RTW items, I figured I would try and make it.
So off I went looking in my pattern collection to see if there was anything that I could use as a base for the pattern and make any necessary adjustments to get the look. Well, you can imagine my delight when I found Simplicity 1961. I made some adjustment to the pattern to make it fit the way I want. I added 8" to the front piece. I wanted the top to be versatile, that I could get a few different looks. I added snaps to the front tails so I could secure it around my neck or waist for whatever style. I used a light weight t-shirt jersey knit.
You are probably wondering why I am not wearing the top. My niece came over, tried it on and loved it. The colour looked so good on her. So, being the good Aunt that I am, I gave it to her ONLY if she would take a few pictures in the top.
I will make myself another one, I am thinking in a cream colour would be nice for the spring and into the summer. What I love most is the fact that this came be worn as a cardigan, or top (if you are feeling extra sexy) ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!
I love the color and you did an awesome job.
