Yellow Peplum
I have been on a yellow kick! I found this really great yellow Ponte Roma knit fabric at my local fabric store for a great price.

Work It Out!
Happy Sunday. It was a lazy Sunday for me. Basketball and Football on my TV all day. I wanted something that was comfy-cozy. I made this jacket with the Vogue #8778.

Leather N' Sheer and Everything Nice!
I am not sure about you, but I found that this week has just flown by. It seems that as the week goes on, things seem to get busier. I have a busy weekend ahead with birthday parties, dinners and the usual weekend activities. With all the hustle and bustle of the week, there is always time to sew.

Simplicity 2472 Pattern Review
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It is absolutely FREEZING here. On a day like this, I would rather stay in bed, comfy and warm. However, duty calls. I managed to get some sewing in this weekend.

Boucle Suit part 2
My adventure continues with this suit. I completed the fitting of the jacket cut out the pattern pieces in the fabric, which I love. In all my haste to work on this project, I forgot to look for some lining material. When I make a garment that requires lining, I like to "jazz" it up a bit, go BOLD with the lining.

Boucle Suit part 1
I was inspired by one of my favourite blog- @Mimi G of @ www.mimigstyle.com Her style and the way that she chooses fabrics are amazing.

My Ready to Wear Fast- WHY??
I have always wanted to
blog about my experience as an amateur seamstress. I have been actively
sewing for the past 5 years, but have never really thought that I would write
about my trials and tribulations. I have followed a number of crafting
and sewing bloggers over the past few years, wondering is my life interesting
enough that I could blog? At the end of all the contemplation, I decided to
take the plunge and begin my own blog; a blog that will act, for me, as an
archive of my sewing and crafting adventure starting in 2014.
As a catalyst for this blog, I have
committed myself to an #RTW fast for the next year. For ONE full year, I will
no longer permit myself to purchasing any Ready To Wear items.
That is, I will no longer be purchasing, tops, coats, pants, sweater,
etc. I am however allowed to purchase underpinnings (bras, panties,
socks) and shoes. The reason why I have decided to do that is to test the
limits of my sewing abilities but also to make a conscious effort to think
about what I am spending. I am sure that
some of you can relate when you walk into a store, you see something that you
love, you try it on and then you buy it.
When you arrive at home, you discover that it’s not exactly what you wanted,
or that you have something very similar, or quite frankly, you realize that you
could’ve made it better. I have
also had the experience of purchasing something, wear it once and then have the
darn thing fall apart on me. What a
waste of money!
The other reason is that as a petite
woman, with large breast AND standing only 4’10” I find it very hard to get
professional-looking clothing that fit right.
Never mind to alter the garments; the cost to alter the item cost equal
to or more than the garment itself.
Sewing became a necessity for me but has made me appreciate the work
that goes into creating a garment, the time, care that is needed to make it
just right.
