New Projects

Easter is a great time to get together with family and friends.  I hosted my family for Easter dinner this year.  It's amazing how much work goes into feeding 10 people.  What is strange for me is that I am more stressed about setting the menu then actually preparing the meal.  Once the menu is set, I can easily execute.  I LOVE to cook and I LOVE to entertain.  Needless to say, this weekend went beautifully.  With all the hustle and bustle of the long weekend, I still managed to make a few pieces.

Item #1- Casual Zip UP

I love this casual Zip up jacket.  I used McCall's 6614.  This pattern is very easy to make and it provides you with a variety of options that are great!  I wanted a light jacket that I could throw on when I was running out the door.  The pattern also gives you options for sweatshirt styles with and without a hood.

Item #2- Cotton Printed Dress

This dress I made before combining two patterns and making some minor adjustments to the pattern.  This dress is fun and playful.  I am really enjoying the printed on the dress.  I discovered that it is important to lay out your pattern pieces the right way when you working with printed patterns, especially when there are words on it.

My Muse!

I finally got up enough courage to make something for someone else.  My mother has always supported my sewing and so I thought what better person to sew for than her.  I figure she will wear it even if she doesn't like it!
